National forum (in person and remotely) on: the future prospects of the population and its role in achieving sustainable human development
The laboratory of population and sustainable development in Algeria, of the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences, organized, this Sunday, October 15, 2023, a national forum (face-to-face and remotely) on the future prospects of the population and its role in achieving sustainable human development, chaired by Dr. Rim Benzayed.
This forum took place in the presence of the Vice-Rector in Charge of External Relations, Pr. Hamza Cherif Ali, Prof. Daoud Nesreddine, dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and teachers from various universities in the country to examine the prospective studies used in the field of population sciences and highlight the importance of the population's future prospects in achieving development. Emphasis was also placed on the relationship between demographic changes and development and the assessment of basic needs related to the population and sustainable human development in areas such as health, education, the labor market, and others.
The discussions of the forum addressed five main axes, including the definition of the fundamental basic concepts of prospective studies and their importance. The concepts and fundamentals related to sustainable human development were also discussed. At the forum, the participants also examined the most important techniques used in prospective studies in the field of population science, highlighting the main challenges facing the relationship between population and development, in addition to discussing the importance of prospective studies to direct efforts towards achieving sustainable development.
